3 Weeks IN
Well I made it through the first three weeks of P90X! Week 4 is a transition week but is really not a break. It's kept me plenty busy with Core Synergystics, Yoga, Plyometrics and more. One thing is for sure, I am a whole lot stronger than I have ever been. I am amazed at the moves I can actually do like push-ups on one toe, chair dips like crazy, and even a few pull ups already! I feel great! All my clothes are looser and I can see a bit of definition in my abs...and this is just week 4! The hardest part is the nutrition. I am back on track but feel like cheating often, trying to think more lifestyle. I hope to post some pictures soon, but who wants to see before pictures with no after...??

Spiru-tein
If you have never tried Spiru-tein it is my top choice of vegan protein powder for smoothies. It is full of great nutrients and has chlorophyl and spirulina. Spirulina is a type of blue/green algae. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, protein and carotenoids (an antioxidant). Studies have found it is good for lowering blood pressure and cholesterol. It is a great source of iron as well.
I blend 1 scoop of the powder with 8oz of almond milk, a handful of frozen strawberries and 1 T. flax seed. My favorite is the Nutty-Berry Blast. The cheapest place to get it is Amazon.

What to Eat?
So what are we going to eat during P90X? The thing I love about it is it promotes a healthy and clean diet. Following the diet plan is critical to success.
I am a vegan and was concerned I would not be able to follow the diet plan. But this is no problem, anyone can, after all, Tony Horton is a vegetarian! And practically vegan except for some whey protein.
The key is to follow this ratio: 50% protein/30% carbs/20% fat. Now this is not the diet plan to follow for life, but it is great for fat loss. No carbs after 3pm and no eating 3 hours before bed is critical. See the Diet Plan Page for specific ideas of what to eat!
The Night Before!
I am super excited to start P90X tomorrow! I've been doing Power 90 for the past month or so and lost 8lbs and 2.5 inches on my waist and 2 inches on my hips. Tomorrow I will take my before pics and measure again! I hope you enjoy watching my transformation....and you're always welcome to join the journey!
